Objective: The aim of this study is an assessment of the effectiveness of endoscopic and x-ray surgical methods in the treatment and prevention of bleeding from varicose veins in patients with cirrhosis of the liver with portal hypertension syndrome of various etiologies.

Methods: We analyzed the effectiveness of endoscopic methods and x-ray surgical methods of varicose veins of the esophagus and stomach in patients with cirrhosis of the liver with portal hypertension syndrome over the past 2021. The duration of the study is 12 months, and the follow-up period is 12 months.

Results: Fifty-nine patients (23 men and 36 women aged 18-90 years) who received inpatient treatment were examined. Forty-four patients, which is 74.5% of the total number of patients, received endoscopic treatment in the form of endoscopic ligation of esophageal veins, while no complications were observed in the early and late surgical period. Fifteen patients received different types of x-ray surgical methods.

Conclusions: The multidisciplinary approach in determining treatment tactics, determining the order of treatment stages, as well as the correct choice of an effective treatment method reduces the number of complications of surgical interventions and relapses and increases remission and survival in patients. The analysis of endoscopic and x-ray surgical methods of treatment performed in a particular clinic for a certain period of time for reliability requires an increase in the follow-up period to 3 and 5 years; if there are positive results, such an approach to treatment can be practiced in other multidisciplinary hospitals of the republic.
